While the job is flexible, they ignore your scheduling preferences (like asking for 20-30 hours and being scheduled 45) unless you bother them every week. Laugh when asked about breaks despite grueling 10-12 hour shifts. They'll listen to your complaints but won't do anything about them. The store is often just a popularity contest and no one will hesitate to turn on you. You're often left completely alone during big rushes because the managers suddenly have something better to do like sitting in the office. High turnover rates because the managers are unbearable and drive everyone away, which leads to constant understaffing and added stress for everyone. Every manager I've worked with made empty promises and won't hesitate to incite and participate in drama. You're often doing the manager's jobs for half their pay. Drivers can make good money depending on area, but insiders are often underpaid and everyone is overworked. The job can be fun depending on where you work in the store and who you work with. The pay was alright but I feel like for all the work I was doing I should’ve at least gotten a dollar or two raise, I found out the only way that would’ve happened was if I stayed til close every shift I worked (as the manager had told me) which meant staying til 2-3 - more. Then the other cashier quit the job, I stayed though (needing extra money) and the job was all of a sudden very hard, people were getting fired, the managers there were somewhat strange, one was too strict and if I ordered food they would make me make it, another was a pot head always taking smoke breaks and he really seemed to not care if the customers food was made or not it seemed as though he was trying to make them mad on purpose so they wouldn’t order there again, the only normal manager there was the assistant manager, she was nice but if she had to talk to someone on the phone it seemed like the end of the world, I could barely bare having to take phone calls, help people in the front and the window by myself while also being worried having to stay overtime (my parents wanted me out on time), earlier I said people didn’t want to work at our dominos, well that wasn’t helping either as for a little while we only had two delivery drivers. For a while it was just me and one more cashier helping customers no problem. For 3 months working there it was pretty easy knowing I had help, a lot of people didn’t want to work at our dominos because it was on the you could say “ghetto” side of the city. My experience at dominos when I first started was good, there were a lot of employees and there was another cashier.
